Reyaz is co-founder and Managing Partner of Alchemy Consumer Partners LLC.  Reyaz is a seasoned principal investment professional and experienced consumer brands expert.  He has spent the last 15+ years in the consumer/retail industry in various capacities, including sourcing, structuring, financing, executing and advising on deals as well as operating (as interim management) certain branded portfolio companies.

Prior to Alchemy Consumer, Reyaz was Managing Partner of KH Capital Partners, a private investment firm in New York and Dubai focused on undervalued global brands and brands with lifestyle extension potential.  Previously, he was Managing Director at Hilco Consumer Capital private equity, where he led several global, IP‐driven consumer brand company acquisitions.

 

Reyaz has served on the boards of The Sharper Image, House of Marley (a branding joint venture with Bob Marley’s estate and family), Bombay Company, Linens ’N Things, and Tommy Armour Golf.  Reyaz was also Interim President of the Authentic Brands Group, which previously managed these brands on the Hilco Consumer Capital platform. There he was responsible for oversight of operations and the licensing growth of the brands managed by the platform.

Reyaz has also been a Senior Principal in the Direct Private Equity Group at Alberta Investment Management Corp. (the $70+ billion pension, endowment and government fund of the Province of Alberta, Canada), a senior investment banker at Financo and Wasserstein Perella/Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in New York, London and Tokyo, and a corporate attorney with Latham & Watkins in New York and London.

Reyaz holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Yale University, an M.A. in Law with honours from the University of Cambridge, and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. He is a member of The Milken Institute's Young Leaders Circle, and also serves on the advisory board of Peace First, a national children’s charity.
